A Stylish and Elegant NYC Engagement

The best thing about being a photographer is that when your friends experience milestones, you’re the first person they think of when they want to cement the moment.  Vixon has grown to be one of my closest friends, and is an amazing videographer.  We’ve shared about the same amount of laughs as we’ve had collaborations over the years, and when he asked me to photograph his engagement photos with his fiancée, Ciru, I jumped at the opportunity.

I like to ask my couples to describe the look they’re going for with their shoot, and they envisioned a nouveau riche aesthetic.  In layman’s terms?

The studio space we utilized, Fourth and Fifth, was perfect for bringing their vision to life.  With beautiful furniture and rooms with dynamic, dramatic decor, Vixon and Ciru knocked it out of the park with their posing.  Trust when I say they didn’t need direction at all.

There’s something so majestic about Manhattan, especially on weekdays - or school days as I like to call them - between the bustling of tourists and taxis I got to witness love in its purest form: steadfast and secure.
